Today was the introduction to the Able Trust /I Can Work Program. Bill was a little unresponsive at first, and needed several verbal prompts to answer the questions asked. He stood in the mirror, identified himself, and was very happy and laughing a lot. He said he likes ADT, and he was cold today. He answered many questions with a chuckle or a laugh, the pattern of this indicated he was positively responding to my questions. He said he lived with his Dad and his favorite color is Blue. We also did a brief introduction to the computer. Bill was excited and was able to maneuver the mouse and open a program on the PC with hand over hand prompt.

In today’s session Bill was handed a box with a hair brush and a comb inside. When asked what these were used for he said to comb his hair. He stood in the mirror and proceeded to brush his hair. I asked him why it is important to have well groomed hair, he said to be clean. I asked him what he does in the morning at home to get ready for his day…he couldn’t answer me. He said his Father helps him. Bill’s appearance on the whole is good however; he could use some assistance in shaving, perhaps implemented into this program. We then viewed the Personal Success software as a review of all the important hygiene procedures. .Bill was very responsive, and interacted well with the prompts in the program.

Bill came into session today and combed his hair in the mirror. He worked on his own computer today simultaneously with his peers. Bill worked on the Match time program continuing to identify the hour. He was getting a little frustrated because the computer kept freezing up on him. After I moved him to another terminal he did very well with identifying the hour, he scored an 82%
