Today was the first day of the Able Trust/ I Can Work program for Laura.  Initially she was hesitant to attend the session.  She began to feel more comfortable as the session progressed.  When she stood in the mirror she proceeded to show me that her shirt had presents on it for Christmas, she showed off her watch for all to see.  Laura then went on to tell me that she lived with her Mother and that her Father had died.  She also has a Brother and a cat.  When asked what she liked to eat she said she liked shrimp, corn, and salad, Wendy’s McDonalds, Burger King and Taco Bell.  She does not like to drink water if it is too cold.   Laura continued on to say that she liked her long hair, and answered me in sign language several times.  When asked what she would like to do she said she likes to stuff envelopes and she wants to learn computers.  When introduced to the computer, she needed only verbal prompting to open up the program.

Today Laura was presented with a box containing a hair brush.  Without prompting she removed her ponytail holder and began to brush her hair.  She was very into making her hair look good.  She said if her hair is messy it’s not good.   When asked about her morning routine, she said she showers washes hands brushes teeth, and told me everything she ate for breakfast.   She interacted well with the Personal Success Program, she identified each action in sign language.

Laura came to session and did her routine with her box and the mirror. Today we experimented and Laura worked on her own computer simultaneously with her peers.   I also configured her computer to enable her to answer the questions by pressing a number on the keyboard instead of manipulating the mouse.  Laura scored a 100% on the Match Time program with identifying the hour.
