Today was the first day in the Able Trust/ I Can Work program for Rosa.  Rosa was very excited to be here. She made it very clear that she liked computers.   She said she wants to work with computers.  Rosa said she lives with her mother, and she has 2 Sisters, 1 Brother and a cat.   She likes apples and oranges and does not like mashed potatoes.   She said she liked what she saw in the mirror.  When introduced to the computer she needed no prompting or assistance to open a program.

Today, Rosa was presented with a box containing a hairbrush.  She was very excited and went to the mirror and began brushing her hair.  She was able to brush it alone, but needed assistance to put it back into a ponytail.   She was very responsive in answering my questions.  She went on to say that she showers, and uses deodorant so she won’t “stink” She washes her hands so she won’t have germs, and  she said people wear make up to look pretty.   Rosa was  interactive and responsive to the Personal Success Software.

Today we worked on time.  Rosa came into the room, and first began to fix her hair; she needed assistance in putting it up into a ponytail.  Rosa understands the concept of early and late and she scored 100% in the Match time program identifying the hour.

Today Rosa continued to work on the Match Time Program; she worked on identifying quarter and half hour increments.  She did poorly at first because she was rushing and not paying attention, I redirected her to slowdown, and once she did she was able to finish the program with a better score.  Her overall score was 63%

Today Rosa came to session and got her box and began to fix her hair in the mirror, after she was satisfied with her looks, she began to work on the Match time Program.  We tried an experiment today; Rosa worked on her own computer simultaneously with her peers.  The distraction was overwhelming for Rosa. She was rushing and scored poorly on identifying the hour. Her overall score was 38%, she did however do better when I was standing with her and prompting her and also blocking her vision of the others in the room.
