Today was the first day of the Able Trust/ I Can Work Program.  Sahly was very enthusiastic about participating in the program.  She stood in the mirror and identified herself and said her birthday was Dec 21 and she was having a big party. Sahly said “ I am Cuban and I like Cuban food.” She also said she lives with her family and they have a dog.  Sahly repeatedly said she wanted a baby boy.   She was very polite and answered all my questions without hesitation.  She likes to dance, and loves piano music.   Her favorite color is brown.   When introduced to the computer, she needed hand over hand prompting with the mouse.

Today Sahly was presented with a box containing a hairbrush.  When asked what this was used for she looked at me and laughed and said to brush my hair!!  Sahly got up and went to the mirror and was very meticulous in brushing her hair. When asked what else she did to get ready fro her day she said brush teeth, eat breakfast, gets dressed.  Sahly said she would like to work on herself and she enjoyed watching and interacting with the Personal Success program.  She needs hand over hand assistance in maneuvering the mouse on the computer.

Sahly came to session today and looked in the mirror to brush her hair, when she was satisfied; she began working on the computer. Sahly worked on her own computer simultaneously with her peers.  She worked on the Match Time Program, identifying the hour. Sahly still is having trouble identifying the time on a face clock, however she responede better to  punching numbers on the keyboard  instead of  using the mouse.
