Today was the first day of the Able Trust/ I Can Work program for Susan. When she sat in front of the mirror she identified herself as Susan St. John. She said “I am disabled, I have CP” She said she lives in Pelican Bay with 4 roommates. And she doesn’t like being pushed around because she doesn’t have good balance. Susan needed some redirecting to keep the conversation from wandering onto other inappropriate topics. Susan said she would like to work in an office because she can sit down. Her favorite color is pink, and she enjoys eating pizza and singing. When asked if she liked what she saw in the mirror she said she thought she looked good.

Today Susan was presented with a box containing a hairbrush. She said Thank you for the brush. When asked what she would do with it, she said brush her hair. She had a hat on so her hair was messy; she went to the mirror and brushed it. Susan was very responsive to my questions. She said she likes to be clean to “look decent” and if she doesn’t take a shower she will be “smelly”. She also said that she washes her hair and uses deodorant. Susan also added that al these things are important for work. Susan was very interactive with the Personal Success program.

Susan came in and said her hair looked fine and didn’t need brushing. She worked on the match time program and scored 100%. Susan also understands the concept of early and late. After the session was over she asked if she could run through the Match Time program again and do a more challenging segment. When she did it she scored an 85%.

Susan came in today and decided that her hair looked fine and didn’t need to be brushed. She worked on the match time program. Susan worked on a more advanced program matching the minutes and distinguishing between one hour early and one hour late. She scored 100% on both segments.
