Who We Are, What We Do
ZeAng deZign is a Southwest
Florida talent network made up people with excellent credentials and a
flair for creativity in application development; Web development; marketing;
IT management;
IT training and education; business strategy;
communications; and
research. As a cooperative of business and IT educators, recent university graduates, current university students, and professionals employed in local industry,
ZeAng deZign
consists of knowledge workers who consult part time as available without compromising their
existing commitments. Through individual and
team consulting engagements of carefully defined scope and duration, we bring
targeted,
affordable domain expertise and creative thinking to the numerous
technological and
communication challenges facing smaller organizations.
Our Mission
ZeAng deZign exists to increase
opportunities for its member consultants to help organizations with limited
resources apply expertise and creativity affordably and effectively to solve
well-defined problems and achieve realistic goals.
Our Approach
The consultants of
ZeAng deZign
place critical emphasis on the importance of design in problem solving of
all types: a systematic approach that marries creativity and process.
Another
ZeAng deZign
distinction is that—as
a cooperative targeting limited scale projects that don't require prolonged,
full-time resources—we
avoid the complex commitments, unclear responsibilities,
divided attention, high overhead and exorbitant expense typical of many
technology consulting practices. Our consultants accept engagements only
when we can guarantee timely results, based on an honest assessment of both the
scope of the challenge and our capacity to meet it. The central criteria
are
availability and skills to do
the job, which is spelled out in a standard
ZeAng deZign
pledge of
performance each consultant completes upon each client referral
accepted. All contractual terms, including compensation, are worked out
directly between client and consultant. Clients pay consultants directly,
and are free to
offer permanent employment to receptive consultants without any obligation to
ZeAng deZign.
Our Background
ZeAng deZign
began as a part-time Web development partnership between two students in the
CIS master's program at Florida Gulf Coast University:
David deMoya, and
Robert Figueroa (who's adopted daughter's name is Jin Zeang,
from which the business name derives). Together, David, a gifted
programmer, and Robert, an accomplished writer, marketer and technology industry
veteran, brought with them prior experience in both small business and larger
corporate IT environments.
While David has worked steadily in application
and Web development, Robert has become more involved in other areas, such as IT
management, education, business development, and research. Both have maintained
strong ties to the University, as well as to an increasingly
extensive network of local IT professionals.
ZeAng deZign is growing beyond
Web development to encompass a wider range of technical and strategic services
for smaller businesses and nonprofits.
